14:15 – Aablan
Charlie Appleby has won the last three runnings of this seven-furlong maiden (two of them with newcomers), including with future Group 1 winner Modern Games, so the eye is drawn to the unraced AABLAN who is by Dubawi out of the smart Godolphin filly Promising Run. An entry in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster later in the season suggests he’s been giving the right signals at home.
Magsood ought to build on his promising debut third at Kempton, while Whiskey Pete and Bellum Justum are other newcomers who look the part on breeding.
14:50 – Promoter
Ralph Beckett has his string in good form so PROMOTER makes plenty of appeal in this handicap over a mile and a quarter. He was stepping up to this trip for the first time on his latest start at Epsom on Derby Day when putting in some good late work to finish fifth to the smart Torito in a good-quality three-year-old contest.
Also fifth in a similar event at Chester on his reappearance, Promoter looks capable of adding to his sole win to date in a novice at Chepstow last season. Handicap debutant Order of Malta and James McHenry, who had excuses at Royal Ascot last time, are feared.

15:25 – Bondi Bay
Rae Guest’s filly BONDI BAY is improving in leaps and bounds and can complete her hat-trick in this six-furlong handicap. She confirmed debut promise when winning a maiden at Ripon in June and then justified some good support on her handicap debut when following up at Nottingham earlier this month.
Bondi Bay looked one to follow after her latest success as she went through the race with ease before leading over a furlong out to beat Asadjumeirah by two and a quarter lengths. She can defy an 8lb higher mark here, with Tawalla, who is also seeking a hat-trick, and Dream For Gold the main dangers.
16:10 – Chairmanoftheboard
This sprint handicap for older horses isn’t so competitive as the numbers suggest and CHAIRMANOFTHEBOARD, who can race off just a 1lb higher mark than when a good second at Hamilton recently, looks the way to go.
A former course-and-distance winner, Jack Channon’s Stewards’ Cup entry was returning from a short break when two lengths second to Paws For Thought in the Scottish Stewards’ Cup last time, returning to the sort of form which had seen him placed twice at Newmarket in the spring. Of the rest, Coco Bear returns from a break but still can’t be taken lightly in his bid for a four-timer.

16:45 – Isle Of Jura
George Scott’s three-year-old ISLE OF JURA has a big weight of 10-7 to carry here but was value for considerably more than the winning margin at Newbury last week when beating Al Hargah two lengths as he was heavily eased, making a mockery of his opening mark, and is very hard to oppose on the back of that impressive display.
Of the opposition, Sherood is in good hands and looks the sort to take his form up a notch now Ed Walker sends him handicapping, while Juryman may prove best of the rest.
17:20 – May Blossom
This five-furlong contest looks like another race where the top weight can defy a big burden. David O’Meara’s sprinter MAY BLOSSOM rattled home after a slow start to get up late by a neck from Hey Mr at Nottingham last time and, provided the pace is solid again, she’s capable of following up with blinkers on again (usually in a visor prior to last time).
Gustav Graves is a consistent type who should pose a threat at the other end of the handicap and Harry With Style is worth noting given he arrives on the up after finishing third over course and distance last week.
