Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPS table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Ben Haslam’s LIGHTENING COMPANY has questions to answer after a 53l defeat on last month’s handicap hurdle debut but, given his Flat ability, there is still significant hope he can do much better in this sphere. He gets the nod ahead of dual AW winner Theonlywayiswessex, who is also still unexposed over hurdles. George Mallory is another to consider.
This looks tricky. GLOBAL ESTEEM should not be troubled if soft is in the going description and he earns a narrow vote on the strength of his effectiveness at this track. Halla Dubai is so unexposed that he is feared most on this drop back from 1m, although Pearle D’or, Mobashr and Snuggle could also have a shout.
Although she doesn’t have the best of draws Hamilton winner NINETY NINE is capable of further improvement and is taken to beat Game Breaker, Woodleigh and last week’s Pontefract runner-up Doubletalk.
Ffos Las winner Labalaba has the best form and is well drawn so has an obvious chance, but may struggle to give 12lb to the well-related newcomer WICHAHPI, who is taken to overcome her poor draw. Snafiya and the newcomer Bury Lane are two others who should go well.
