14:10 – Just Glamorous
Just Glamorous went without a win last season but he was given a big chance by the handicapper and took advantage on his reappearance at Salisbury last month. Just Glamorous travelled fluently in the lead and kept on well to score by three-quarters of a length, and he still looks well treated on the pick of his form after a 3 lb rise in the weights. It’s also worth noting that he has a course-and-distance win to his name and his best effort last season was when only narrowly denied here.
14:40 – Arabian Crown
Arabian Crown, a €600,000 son of Dubawi, had to settle for minor honours when sent off a short-price favourite on debut over this course and distance a few weeks ago but he shaped with promise in third and should benefit from the experience. Arabian Crown ran green after being shaken up and asked for his effort, but he kept on well inside the final furlong and was closest at the finish, losing out by just a nose and three-quarters of a length in a novice featuring some other well-bred horses from top yards.
15:15 – Soprano
Soprano justified good support when making a winning start in a five-furlong maiden at Newmarket in May and she built on that promise when finishing third in the Albany Stakes over six furlongs at Royal Ascot last month. Soprano saw things out well, especially considering she made quite a big mid-race move, and she should cope with the extra furlong here. She sets the standard on her Royal Ascot form and is the one to beat.

15:50 – Hidden Story
Hidden Story got off the mark in comprehensive fashion in a Newcastle novice over a mile and a quarter on his third start and he ran to a similar level when a close-up fourth in a good-quality event over a mile and a half on his handicap debut at Newmarket 12 days ago. Hidden Story failed to instantly improve for the step up in trip, but, as a 550,000 guineas son of Dubawi out of a sister to Derby winner Serpentine, he’s bred to stay well and surely still has more to offer. He steps up another couple of furlongs in trip here but should cope with the test and is likely to prove better than this mark.
16:20 – Flyawaydream
Flyawaydream posted an encouraging return to action when third at Kempton a few weeks ago, running to a similar level as when also placed on his first couple of outings in handicaps last season. Things didn’t play out ideally for Flyawaydream at Kempton as he met some trouble in running in a race run at just an ordinary gallop, but he kept on in the style of a horse who should appreciate this step up in trip. He should still have more to offer over a mile and a quarter.
16:55 – Surrey Belle
Surrey Belle ran her best race yet when runner-up on her handicap debut at Ffos Las a few weeks ago and she should be able to build on that promise. Surrey Belle, who was wearing a hood for the first time, settled better than previously and travelled smoothly into contention, but she had to wait for a gap over two furlongs out which resulted in her conceding first run. She ran on well when in the clear and, while she had to settle for second, she showed enough to suggest she’s started out in handicaps from a fair mark.
