OBEE JO is a seven-time winner on good or slower ground. Has hit the target twice over C&D this season, including when beating Liberty Breeze on his penultimate run. Down the field back here last time but he didn’t get the best of runs and still looks on a workable mark. Dangerous.
ASTRONOMICA is a half-sister to two useful winners. Beat a subsequent winner at Windsor (1m, soft) and although she couldn’t lay a glove on the front-running Haaf A Diamond here (good to firm) a month ago, she again ran well. Solid chance off just 1lb higher.
6f proved too sharp on BEN HAMRASH’s handicap debut at Lingfield and he scored when back to 7f at Chelmsford three weeks later (awarded the race, having been carried off a straight line). Probably has more to offer, which is needed on this turf debut.
GALLANT LION was always behind when 80-1 for his handicap debut but led on post at Brighton (good to firm) next time and followed up in clearcut fashion at Newbury (good) 13 days ago, all three races over 1m2f; up another 7lb but there was plenty to like about the style of that latest win from off the pace.
