13:50 Newbury – Epic Poet
With a question mark over stamina for Highland Avenue, and the likely favourite Al Aasy looking very vulnerable off the back of a 25 length beating the selection, Epic Poet could be the answer in a trappy ITV opener. He has some very strong form behind West Wind Blows and the return to that level will see him go very close indeed.
14:25 Newbury – Apparate (each way)
Apparate put up an excellent performance on his first try for the stable after being purchased at the Horses In Training sale for 55,000 Guineas. That was off the back of a very long absence as well. He has been given time to get over those exertions and returns after 50 days, stepping up to a new trip which judged on his previous form looks absolutely tailor made.
15:00 Newbury – Rohaan
Rohaan has not been the easiest to train so far for the current campaign yet did make eye-catching late headway when we saw him just seven days ago at Ascot. He finished fourth in this contest last season in what was arguably a better renewal and he has got two of the pace runners drawn close by to drag him into contention.

15:35 Newbury – Payment in Kind (each way)
The finish will probably revolve around the short price favourite Relief Rally, but there has to be a bit of value looking outside of the top three or four in the betting. Payment In Kind looks a decent each way play at the prices and he ran a cracker over 6f here on his racecourse debut just nine days ago. The way he travelled would suggest the drop back down to the minimum should prove no problem he can get a slice of the action.
15:45 Curragh – Bluestocking
Bluestocking is the only English representative going over to try and steal the big money on offer in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh and she has nowhere near reached her full potential as yet. She was never able to get up into top gear behind Warm Heart at the Royal meeting in the Ribblesdale and, granted a better passage, she would’ve made the winner pull out all the stops but her rider thought that the race had gone beyond recall. She’s going to serve it up to the home team.
