13:50 Newbury – Dancing Magic

Dancing Magic is an eight-race maiden but I will take a chance on him at a price. He wasn’t disgraced in the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot when out the back and got hampered when making his effort. It didn’t prevent him winning but he was only beaten just over 4l and would have been close to the places with a clearer run. This is his first run below Group company since he was second to Naval Power in the Listed Ascendant Stakes at Haydock last September and gets the 9lbs 3 year old allowance.

14:05 Market Rasen – Misty Mani

Misty Mani landed a hat trick from July to September last year off 73, 75 and 81. His last win was here over 2m2f and was third at Musselburgh in March when 10lb out of the handicap. Was pulled up last time here but we are getting a big price about him and Luke Scott takes off 7lb up top.

14:25 Newbury – Zinc White (each way)

Decent ground at Ascot was against Zinc White when down the field in the Ascot Stakes. He had bolted up at Chester off 84 when he beat Novel Legend and that was his first start in not far off two years. Any rain will suit and I imagine he will be a non runner unless there is soft in the going description. If the ground comes right for him he has a huge chance.

14:40 Market Rasen – Myristica

Myristica is rated 83 on the flat and while beaten a head into second on hurdles debut she has won her next three very easily. She’s too well handicapped to ignore and has plenty of experience in handicaps on the flat.

15:00 Newbury – Rumstar

Rumstar won the Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket last year. May have needed the run on reappearance when 6th of 7 at Newbury behind Shaquille. Ran a cracker in Ascot in the Commonwealth Cup when a 2.5 length 5th.

15:15 Market Rasen – Gloire D’Anthon

Francky Du Berlais is on a hat trick in this race and runs off 140. His wins were off 139 last year and 137 the year previous. Gloire D’athon just looks a little underestimated to me. He has won 5 of his last 6 starts over fences, going from 109 to 133. His win at Sandown, while fortunate with Harper’s Brook pulling himself up, does look useful form and he backed up that win when winning at Uttoxeter in May off 128.

15:35 Newbury – Rosario (each way)

Looking back over previous years, I think being drawn high has been a distinct advantage in this race. That would turn me off Juniper Berries and La Guarida who were on my list at the beginning of the week. Relief Rally has a strong chance but is very short so I will take a chance on Rosario each way at a price. Drawn 20 out 20, he won on debut at Ffos Las over 5f when beating the reopposing Heed The Call who won next time out. I loved the way he travelled through the race and quickened up nicely. Was weak in the market, so I think we can expect him to improve plenty for the experience.

15:45 The Curragh – Bluestocking (each way)

I’m not sure the Oaks form is that strong and happy to take on Savethelastdance at a short price. Bluestocking would look an each way bet to nothing as at Royal Ascot in the Ribblesdale I thought she was given too much to do and was running on into 3rd. The easing of the ground will suit her as there was cut in the ground when she won on debut at Salisbury.
