Horse Racing Tips: Timeform’s best bets at Hamilton on Thursday

14:20 – Sayidh Kingman

SAYIDH KINGMAN showed ability without threatening the principals on her first two starts at Newmarket and York and she built on that promise when finishing a close fourth over six furlongs at this track last month. She looked the likeliest winning passing the furlong pole – traded at 1.20 in-running on Betfair – but she was collared by rivals coming from further back close home. The drop to five furlongs looks a good move given the speed she displayed that day and there should be more to come from her now handicapping from a mark of 69. Valour And Swagger looked a good prospect when making a winning debut and may get back on track now making his nursery debut.

14:50 – Rain Cap

RAIN CAP goes particularly well at Catterick and he was well supported when resuming winning ways over seven furlongs at that course last week, beating the reopposing Agonyclite by three quarters of a length. He took a strong hold and stayed on well while carrying his head awkwardly to get on top in the final 100 yards. Rain Cap had a bit in hand at the line and he remains well treated on the pick of his form turned out under a 5 lb penalty. Autumn Flight, who is also on a good mark, is also considered.

15:25 – Bashful

BASHFUL showed a good attitude when resuming winning ways over the extended mile at this course two starts back and he produced a career-best effort to follow up over a mile and a quarter at Newcastle last month. He had reportedly undergone a breathing operation prior to that win and he had plenty in hand, value for more than the official margin having been eased at the finish. Bashful is clearly at the top of his game right now and is expected to defy a 5 lb rise and complete a hat-trick. Shine On Brendan is feared most.

15:55 – Botanical

BOTANICAL cost 260,000 guineas as a yearling and he shaped with plenty of promise when runner-up on debut over seven furlongs last month, lacking the turn of foot of the more experienced winner at a crucial point but still only beaten a neck. He is from a good family and looks a sure-fire improver, especially now moving up in trip, so he is a confident selection to open his account in what doesn’t look the deepest race of its type. Crack Shot looks the obvious danger on the back of his Nottingham victory, but may find it hard to concede weight.

16:25 – Bryce

BRYCE remains a maiden, but he turned in his best effort of the season in first-time cheekpieces when runner-up at Ripon 10 days ago, keeping on in the final furlong and only just failing to get past the all-the-way winner. The handicapper has left him on the same mark since and, while this looks a deeper race, he may have more to offer in headgear. Trabajo Detecho is pretty consistent on the whole and is likely to give another good account of himself.

16:55 – Blazer Two

If back to his best BLAZER TWO could be the answer to this open-looking handicap. He is just 1 lb above the mark off which he was successful at Leicester at the end of May and the booking of Joe Fanning is a plus. Spanish Hustle could be the pick of the Jim Goldie-trained duo and is second choice ahead of Can Can Girl and stablemate Lochnaver.
