15:00 Bath – First Company (Farringdon)

FIRST COMPANY was a 5f winner two years ago, for previous yard. 0-10 for current stable and inconsistent this year. Would have a fighting chance if back to the form of his Salisbury effort (6f, good; close second) in May.

15:52 Catterick – Quercus (Jason Heavey)

QUERCUS has form on soft ground. Good second at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) two weeks ago. Respectable record at Catterick includes three wins. Now upped in grade but gets plenty of weight all round. Interesting back here.

16:00 Bath – Fred Bear (Tipman)

FRED BEAR has two wins (Salisbury and Catterick) and creditable third (Nottingham) from his last three starts. Lots of form on good to soft, more to prove on worse. Stays 2m and should be on the premises if the ground is okay.

16:30 Bath – Pfingstberg (On The Nose)

PFINGSTBERG is a brother to a 1m3f winner and showed a lot more when upped to 11.4f on handicap debut at Yarmouth (good to firm) five weeks ago, finishing in just third of five but seeming to do his best work late on. Further improvement could bring him seriously into the argument.
