14:00 – Lady Nunthorpe

LADY NUNTHORPE left her debut form well behind when finishing third over this course and distance last time, doing her best work late on after being forced to switch entering the final furlong. A well-bred filly who cost 450,000 guineas as a yearling, she is the type to go on improving and should mount a bold bid to get off the mark at the third attempt.

14:35 – Without Flaw

WITHOUT FLAW has shown only modest form in three runs to date, but she appeals as a likely improver now stepping up to seven furlongs for her nursery debut. There is stamina on the dam’s side of her pedigree and, trained by Archie Watson, she is in the right hands to progress through the ranks from a lowly opening mark.

15:10 – Rory The Cat

RORY THE CAT opened his account over this course and distance in June and then ran at least as well in defeat when filling the runner-up spot at Ayr nine days ago. He was beaten just a head on the last occasion and remains one to be interested in from an unchanged mark, albeit it remains to be seen how he’ll cope with the softer ground today.

15:45 – Latin Five

LATIN FIVE ran another solid race when finishing a close-up third at Musselburgh last month, staying on well having been sandwiched between the pair who beat him. He seems to be working his way back to top form and is worth another chance to end his losing run, stretching back to his course-and-distance victory from a 9 lb lower mark nearly 12 months ago.

16:20 – Insolente

INSOLENTE showed a good attitude to finally get off the mark over this course and distance in May and her two subsequent runs have also been full of promise despite ending in defeat. She was beaten less than two lengths when finishing fourth back here last time and that is proving strong form (winner and third both won next time). 1 lb lower in the weights today, Insolente remains one to be positive about now taking on older horses for the first time in a handicap.

16:55 – Zinc White

ZINC WHITE was down the field in the Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting last time, but it’s far too soon to be writing him off after just one bad run. He is better judged on the form he showed when easily winning his previous start at Chester, his first run for Ian Williams after 19 months off. That was a very promising start to life with his new yard and he’s worth another chance to build on it now back on softer ground and with his sights lowered.

17:25 – Look Back Smiling

LOOK BACK SMILING ran his best race when suffering a narrow defeat at Hamilton on Saturday, leaving the impression he probably should have won (edged out close home having carried his head a bit awkwardly). He clearly isn’t the most straightforward, but his mark is a fair one and just a repeat of his Hamilton form will give him every chance after only three days off.
