Thirsk reappearance success (7f, soft) HOOTS TOOTS was the third leg of a hat-trick, having ended last season with two 1m all weather (AW wins); could impress.

15:25 – Newton Abbot – San Giovanni – 888 Sport

Low-mileage 7yo, SAN GIOVANNI won twice in novice company (once over same course and distance) in early part of last season; not seen since 36 length defeat in valuable series final in September but in calmer waters here and probably still has potential; had wind op in December.

20:20 – Killarney – Snowhaven – The Irish Sun

Unfortunately left her rider on the sidelines for several weeks after clipping a heel and coming down when last seen at Gowran early last month; SNOWHAVEN was slowly progressive coming into that and certainly considered if that last experience can be overcome.

20:40 – Windsor – Absolute Queen – Weekender

ABSOLUTE QUEEN chases three wins in a row and should go well. Ran respectably sole start on soft; wore cheekpieces on last four starts, on last two occasions winning handicaps at Bath (1m2f, firm) and Windsor (11.4f, good to firm); did it by just a neck last time and has been raised 3lb but the drop back in trip looks fine and she’s on the up.
