13:45 – Ascot -Existent (each-way)
It’s going to finally kick into place with EXISTENT one day and a big field with a guaranteed strong pace that looks sure to suit him. He’s drawn in the high numbers with a bit of pace around him and Equilateral should give him the perfect tow into the contest. He will be absolutely thrusting home late in the day at a huge each-way price.
14:00 – York – Aramaic
ARAMAIC missed all of 2022 and his three return efforts this season have all been decent, but now he returns to what could prove his optimum distance. He’s not short on natural pace, and he’s returning to a track that he goes particularly well at. Expect him to get a perfect lead until around about the furlong from home marker.
14:20 – Ascot – Angel Bleu
ANGEL BLEU has already proven himself a high-class performer and didn’t get any luck when we last saw him where he was momentarily checked for room at a vital stage as they were all quickening. He takes a little drop in grade and does have a pound or two to find in the official ratings, but he rates a strong contender.
14:35 York – Queen Me (non runner)
QUEEN ME ran an absolute storming contest in the Commonwealth Cup where not beaten too far, but clearly not lasting out the extra furlong. She’s now back down to the minimum trip on a track, where she has already shown a decent level of form last season. This looks the ideal combination to guide her back to the winners enclosure.
14:50 – Newmarket – Tafreej
There is no doubting TAFREEJ has been unlucky on a few occasions but looking at the way he races, a straight track is going to suit him much better. Slightly easier conditions hold no fears for him whatsoever and his hike in the handicap is negated a little bit with young Adam Farragher taking off a valuable 3lbs off his back.
15:10 – York – Millebosc
MILLEBOSC was a massive eye-catcher for this stable 227 days ago in a red-hot contest on the all weather at Lingfield. We haven’t seen him since and trainer William Haggas will have targeted this valuable contest from a long way out. The stable jockey Tom Marquand goes to York which is also a positive.
15:25 – Newmarket – Great Truth
GREAT TRUTH didn’t know that he was in front when winning at Leicester and still managed to open up despite running very ‘green’ in that for a five and a half length success. The market makes it a straight match with him and the the Irish raider City of Troy.

16:00 Newmarket – Shining Blue (each-way)
Normally in this type of heritage handicap, you can find a few that are looking extremely well treated. However, we seem to have a bunch of exposed rivals bar SHINING BLUE at the top of the market. He’s a 7f specialist with most defeats coming when he has raced over further than this trip. Can hit the places at least.
16:35 – Newmarket – Kinross
What a brilliant spare ride for the champion jockey William Buick to pick up with regualr pilot Frankie Dettori on the sidelines. The rain is very much in his favour and we can put a line through his last run as he was caught out on the wing with loads of daylight which quite clearly doesn’t suit him. KINROSS needs to race back in the peloton and see daylight very late. He should get those circumstances today.
