It’s very interesting that Ryan Moore has been booked by Alan King on Westerton, a son of Belardo. Ryan was on board when he won at Sandown and there was a lot to like about that performance. In an open contest, he is certainly worthy of an each-way selection. William Buick has chosen to ride Tagabawa of the two Godolphin horses and that was probably not that easy a choice.
The fact that Bopedro ran well at York in two runs this season has to bode well for him. He’s formally trained in Ireland and he has found his level now. He can win off only 3lbs higher than the mark he won off at Newmarket.
Star Of Mystery is very short now with main rival Soprano being a non runner. She was a very impressive winner of the Empress Stakes over course and distance. Persian Dreamer looks the main danger but the form of the yard is a concern.
I fell in love with Swingalong at Ascot when I saw her in the paddock. She is smart and this is absolutely made for her. She looked really good from winning the Lowther at the track last year on similar ground and I feel she is a standout in this contest.
Saeed bin Suroor has won a Classic this season, so it has been a good year for him and Live Your Dream is a six-year-old who has run some good races in really top handicaps. There was a lot to like about his run at Ascot too. He is getting no relief from the handicapper but we know he really likes the track.
Remarquee’s run at Ascot behind superstar filly Tahiyra was a really good one. She was a little unlucky in the race and she got squeezed out at a crucial time. Had she had a clear run she would’ve finished even closer to Tahiyra. That is top notch form and good enough to win now.
