13:50 – NEWMARKET – SEENDID (Each Way)
ITV Friday gets under way at the July meeting at Newmarket with a handicap over 1m2f for 3yo. This looks quite open. He might not win this, but in time I’ll be very surprised if SEENDID is not better than an 85 animal. The William Haggas raider was not disgraced at Chepstow two runs ago and then came good in a novice event at this track last time. The handicap rating looks very fair and he should have more to offer under Tom Marquand. Strong eachway claims.
14:05 – YORK – GWEEDORE (Each Way)
ITV also go to York Friday for two races starting with this handicap over 7f. Lots of old favourites in here. Northern Express has been in great shape, but GWEEDORE might get away from this small field on the front end. The Katie Scott inmate is a great servant and while on a career high mark of 96 has William Pyle taking off 7lb. His effort at York two runs ago when second to Wild Lion gives him every chance as effectively 5lb lower here. Will be long odds.
14:25 – NEWMARKET – STAR OF MYSTERY
Up in class here for the Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge for youngsters over 6f. Hard to get away from STAR OF MYSTERY who looks very useful for Charlie Appleby and William Buick. My hope bolted up in Listed class last time and while Soprano ran very well in the Albany I expect the Godolphin daughter of Kodiac to go in again.
14:40 – YORK – ROYAL ACLAIM
Now a Group 3 over 6f. ROYAL ACLAIM has not proved as good as once we hoped but has eachway claims here for PJ McDonald and James Tate. She’s down to a rating of 103 now having once been 108 and finished sixth in a Nunthorpe when sent off favourite. This is a chance to show more.

15:00 – NEWMARKET- LIVE YOUR DREAM
A heritage handicap over 1m6f. This is a good chance for LIVE YOUR DREAM even though he’s high in the handicap after a fine run at Royal Ascot. The Saeed bin Suroor challenger stays well – once ran in the Cesarewitch – and was a fine third in the Duke of Edinburgh when last seen. He’s up 2lb for that performance but the longer trip will suit and Kevin Stott is up with every chance.
15:35 – NEWMARKET – NASHWA
The big race of the day in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes for fillies and mares over 1m. Fascinating renewal with a few back in trip. I’m keeping the faith with proven class act NASHWA, who has only ever run at a mile once before. Of course the John & Thady Gosden runner has proven best at 1m2f since running in an Oaks but she has plenty of speed and a comeback effort at Newcastle should have blown the cobwebs away. Hollie Doyle rides. So best off luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
