Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
MR MACPHISTO was a Kilbeggan winner last summer. Beaten 70l on return but yard in cracking form with handicap hurdlers (last four 4122, none favourite) and its only runner today. Tongue tie retained.
LIGHT PARADE’S Thurles win last autumn came on preferred soft ground. Ground plenty quick for her when beaten favourite at Punchestown last time. Trip no problem but wants plenty of rain.
RANGER BILLY got off the mark over course and distance last month off an 8lb lower mark, value for more than the 1.25l margin suggests. Front pair were well clear of third on that occasion and he looks like he could have more to offer at this distance.
PONT AVAL is a useful mare who has had a couple of lengthy absences from the track. Got off the mark over fences in the Killarney National (3m2f) last time. 9lb higher but stays well and is a player.
