Mountain Bear for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore looks to have a big chance in this 6f Group 2. Very impressive winner last time out at the Curragh which has similarities to Newmarket. That was from a poor draw but despite that posted a very good rating that day. He has to be seriously feared.
Thornaby Pearl has been frustrating at times but has been hinting at a return to the winners enclosure lately and represents some nice value. Not a heavily-raced five-year-old, so could be plenty more to come from him and he has some good efforts posted at this track which is always a bonus. Looks on a very good mark today, he’s 3lbs lower than when winning here previously and has placed efforts recently of higher marks, should have place chances at the very least.
Very hard to oppose here with 5 places on offer and although price has come in a bit when I noted this one yesterday I’m still very keen on him today. Beat a few of these already at York and the most impressive thing was that was on the wrong side of the track, form from that has been working out well too. Very good figure posted for that race and he sits at the top table. Still a very progressive three-year-old who has won on the Rowley and should be just as effective on the July course too.
