Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
250,000euros yearling who showed plenty of promise among his four starts in France (1m1f-1m3f, soft/very soft) for Henri-Francois Devin, going close at Longchamp in April when last seen; gelded since; JUMEIRAH KING could be a major player if reproducing his French form on this stable debut (remains in same ownership).
Sharp Power is the obvious starting point, off the same mark as when readily beating four rivals at Windsor nine days ago, but there are a few others with potential against him. Imperial Dream will find this tougher than the maiden he won here last time, having just a second crack at sprinting, and it could be worth giving another chance to MOJEYRR, who was all at sea on turf last time. Exorbitant looks fairly treated on his handicap debut, while a better showing from Royal Mariner wouldn’t surprise.
DONNIE AZOFF won on Taunton maiden hurdle in March (2m, heavy); runner-up on both starts over fences (two-runner race last time); may improve for this step up in trip.
Only her second run in cheekpieces when grinding it out at Newbury (1m3f, good to firm) two weeks ago with Olivia Tubb doing the driving; only 3lb higher MREMBO did run poorly on her previous visit here but has it in the tank to deliver.
