Back down in class GEOLOGIST holds a leading chance on the figures and is taken to open her account. Arizona Desert, who should build on her Wetherby effort, is second choice ahead of the comparatively exposed but consistent Bellarchi. Market support for newcomer Nevzilla should be heeded.

18:50 – KATHAB

This looks a straightforward task for KATHAB who sets a clear standard on all three efforts. He hasn’t gone on as expected from the Wood Ditton but should take advantage of this drop to a much weaker scenario. Stablemate Sanction is next best on form, albeit a long way behind the selection on bare figures. Newcomer Knights Affair doesn’t really leap off the page but the market signals should provide further guidance.

19:20 – COSMOS RAJ

Well-handicapped COSMOS RAJ is taken to build on his latest effort and record a third course success. Little Ted, another dual Ripon winner who is on a handy mark, is second choice. Diamond Haze and Saisons D’Or have frame possibilities on recent form, while Zumurud is not dismissed.

19:55 – BARYSHNIKOV

All of the 3yos can be viewed positively but, back at Ripon, the 7yo BARYSHNIKOV may be able to beat those younger rivals. He has a solid record here, looked unlucky on his most recent course visit and remains on a handy mark. Coverdale, unbeaten since upped to 1m2f, is feared most ahead of Perfect Play and handicap debutant Merry Minister. None of the other runners can be comfortably ruled out.

20:30 – EDWINA SHEERAN (nap)

The change of tactics has been a boon for EDWINA SHEERAN (nap), who could well progress further and follow up her C&D success. Alex The Great, who looks likely to build on his latest effort, is second choice ahead of Churchella who is interesting on her penultimate piece of form. Blue Antares may improve for the trip/headgear.

21:00 – MRS TRUMP

Off an unaltered mark back over 6f, MRS TRUMP may be capable of opening her account. Fortuitous Star, a consistent sort, is the suggested second choice. The rematch between closely aligned rivals Glendown, Aurora Glory and Bryce adds interest to this finale, and those three are firmly in the mix.
