Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Clarendon House’s third in the Dash brings him right into the reckoning, while Korker (second choice) has looked as good as ever in defeat this year and last week’s Newcastle second off this mark was a rock-solid effort. DREAMCOMPOSER came up short in the Wokingham last time but he’s building up an excellent record over 5f and good or slower ground will be right up his street. He can continue on his upward trajectory.
This might be Coolnaugh Haze’s chance of another success but there are plenty of alternatives. Glorious Zoff has improved and could defy top weight if none the worse for his Bangor fall while Cabrakan (second choice) could improve further as a hurdler. THRONE HALL is selected in the hope that blinkers will prove an asset.
The shortlist is headed by the well-treated contenders NOMADIC EMPIRE and Rocket Rodney in that order of preference. The selection is 10lb lower than when performing well in this race two years ago, while the second choice is favourably handicapped on his useful form last summer. Rogue Lightning, who may improve for the drop to 5f in a first-time hood, is the suggested third choice. Miss Brazen and Ready Freddie Go are worthy of respect, while the progressive Hiya Maite would hold particularly strong claims if the ground is slow.
The step up in trip promises to be a positive for OWNERS DREAM and he can make a winning handicap debut. A 3lb rise for Lady Of Arabia’s win over C&D last month could prove lenient and she is second choice ahead of Leap Year Lad and handicap newcomer Walk The Moon.
