There’s not much to go off in this newcomers’ race but the William Haggas yard have been hitting top gear lately and have had plenty of two-year-old winners. The stable has a great record at Yarmouth and Cieran Fallon rides Cover Point. He should be one of the main players.

16:00 Yarmouth – Roman Dynasty

3 points win

Roman Dynasty won very easily at Nottingham last week over a mile is still lbs ahead of the handicapper’s assessment as he’s due to go up in the ratings again next week. Providing he can cope with the softer ground, he should take some beating again.

16:30 Yarmouth – Lord Cherry

1.5 points each-way

Lord Cherry has generally been running on the all weather but does have form at this course and has won over this trip. He drops back into handicap company now and has leading claims on his previous form and at the weights.

16:10 Haydock – Silent Flame

1.5 points each way

All of Silent Flame’s wins have come over this trip. With the conditions a bit softer it’s sure to suit his style given he does stay further. The yard is in good form and the trainer / jockey combo of Rod Milman & PJ McDonald have a 23 per cent strike rate in the last five years. This five-year-old hasn’t been over- raced so there’s plenty of improvement still to come hopefully. He has a massive chance today.
