Course bumper winner I LOVE MY BAIE could improve past some of these now that his attention is turned to hurdling. Nottodaybobo ran well enough last time at Punchestown to earn second preference.
Hungry Hill could bounce back should conditions not get too soft but Sea Prince is solid after his recent second here and so too is BABY JANE, who beat an in-form rival last time with the two of them clear.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see any of the five win. MULBERRY HILL had every chance when falling on her chase debut at Ludlow and getting round over hurdles last time should have restored her confidence. Pearl Of The West made a pleasing start over fences at Wexford and could be the danger, along with Fruit Blossom.
Jonjo O’Neill’s ZABEEL CHAMPION (nap) should be very competitive at this level off his current mark and he has a good record when fresh. Four of his five rivals have been running well this year and Well Planted edges second preference ahead of Captain Zebo.
The eyes are drawn to the lightly raced PRINCE CLENI on the back of his career-best win at Southwell. He could have a lot more to offer. His stablemate Call Of The Loon is not without hope, but unexposed stayer Spark Of Madness is feared most.
Bobby Socks is the obvious answer having escaped a penalty for his Southwell win, but as good ground seems ideal for him, the weather needs watching. MALANGEN could go around here with his eyes shut and career win number nine is a possibility. Not that the other two are dismissed lightly.
