14:15 – SHE’S A GAMBLER

SHE’S A GAMBLER became yet another two-year-old to make a winning debut for Richard Fahey at Wetherby last month, displaying a nice turn of foot to quicken into the lead and always holding on in the closing stages. That form hasn’t really been tested yet, but this doesn’t look a strong race, and she should be able to defy a penalty with improvement forthcoming. Vince L’amour showed enough speed starting out at Ripon to make him of interest, with Kesteven Rda a debutante of some interest despite her very cheap price tag.

14:45 – BEYOND BORDERS

BEYOND BORDERS made some appeal on paper and showed something to work on when finishing midfield on debut at Ayr 11 days ago. He was in need of the experience and wasn’t given a hard time, hanging left when asked to make headway entering the final furlong and not knocked about after. There should be improvement in him now and he is the percentage play, though a strong market move for the Richard Fahey-trained newcomer Beechwood Star would put a different slant on things.

15:15 – HEY MR

HEY MR hasn’t been with Paul Midgley long and left his previous efforts for these connections well behind when running out a decisive winner at Nottingham last week, doubling his career tally and ending a losing run stretching back almost three years in the process. He showed a good turn of foot to settle matters on that occasion and he remains very well treated on old form turned out under a penalty. Canaria Prince is feared most having made the frame on all three of his previous outings at this course.

15:45 – QUERCUS

QUERCUS enhanced his good record at Catterick last month, recording a career-best effort to resume winning ways, and is taken to bounce back from a poor effort at Newcastle last time now back on turf and with the benefit of an advantageous high draw. Made of Lir finished ahead of Ginato at Ripon last time and that pair are both respected again, whilst Golden Gal lurks on an interesting mark and isn’t discounted.

16:15 – MUBHIJAH

MUBHIJAH is beginning to look exposed now after eight starts, but she sets a pretty good standard on form in this field, and she has found just one rival too strong on her last two starts. She was beaten only by an unexposed type over course and distance last time, the pair pulling well clear of the remainder, and that should be good enough to see her deservedly get her head in front. Laoisman is likely to give it another good shot, with Onslow Gardens dangerous if back on his game.

16:50 –  BIPLANE

BIPLANE arrives in good form having won two of his last three starts, well positioned to take advantage of a reduced mark at Newcastle in May, and producing a career best when overcoming a positional bias dropped to seven furlongs at Redcar 12 days ago. She is just 3 lb higher in the weights now and seems sure to launch another bold bid. Lilikoi has had a consistent spell and rates a threat, while Tender Trap shaped a bit better last time and is well treated judged on last year’s form.

17:20 –  MR WAGYU

MR WAGYU is an admirable sprinter who was back on track when finishing third in the Dash at Epsom last month. He was well held at Haydock a week later, but wasted no time showing he’s still in form when seventh in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot 11 days ago, and this represents a much easier test now back in a lower grade. Rock of England will be a threat if the blinkers continue to have a positive effect, while Tinto is on a winning mark and is another to consider.

17:50 – CORSICAN CAPER

CORSICAN CAPER wasn’t quite on his game fitted with a visor last time, but he’d been on the up previously, his form from Haydock two starts back proving strong, and he should find this easier, so he can shed his maiden tag if he gets the longer trip with the cheekpieces back on. Timewave is another one to consider and A Day To Dream is expected to be back to form.
