Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
The step back up in trip looks a likely plus for ARTHUR’S QUAY, who stayed on for fourth of six over 2m1f here last time, and he earns the vote ahead of the Gordon Elliott-trained Arctic Ambition who could have more to offer. Grey Skies ran well over C&D last time and is next on the list, while Ubetya, Marshalled and Broken Ice could also be involved in an open race.
Improving KINONDO KWETU (nap) is taken to defy top weight and enhance his excellent strike-rate over fences. The return to Uttoxeter cements his good claims, given he is 2-2 here. Twig, another highly productive sort, is second choice on his return to chasing. The Abbey, an in-form contender who remains unexposed at 3m2f, is third choice. Ruthless Article, Jaytee and Cap Du Nord complete the shortlist.
This is very difficult, but there are a couple of relatively unexposed types that are potentially interesting. The form of the Killarney maiden won by ARNIEMAC was given a good boost by the runner-up when winning at Listowel. He is just preferred to Farnborough, a Limerick maiden winner with potential for improvement in only his second handicap.
In-form maiden CUMHACHT posted a solid effort last time, having travelled smoothly into contention, and looks poised to open his account back down in trip. Sir Canford (second choice) is interesting in this grade with his reappearance under his belt, while Vin Rouge, Tonto Foley, Rafiki and Andapa are others who need a look.
