Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Last year’s winner Raatea dug deep to win at Haydock last time and he’s a major player once again. Most of the others – notably Animate, Aleezdancer and Coachello (second choice) – can have a good case argued for them but this may be the day that things fall into place for SOLDIER’S MINUTE. He is almost certainly in better form than his formfigures suggest and the return to AW could be the catalyst for a full revival.
This is an ease in grade for Princess Shabnam and a revival could be on the cards but the C&D handicap in which CUBAN BREEZE, Roman Dragon and Hello Zabeel finished third, fourth and fifth might prove the key formline. Cuban Breeze has been coming to the boil this summer and she looks primed to strike. Paws For Thought did just that yesterday when totally dominating an amateur riders’ event.
A wide open handicap and it is not easy to rule out many of them. Dancing Tango could be the pick of Joseph O’Brien’s. Lord Vader is an interesting runner for Emmet Mullins, Pachmena ran well at Ballinrobe on Monday with the stable in excellent form, while Yokell is thoroughly consistent and has her chance. There was a lot to like about the return effort of DRACO PULCHRAC over 1m at Leopardstown though, and she could be the answer.
Plenty of interest here. The step up to 2m could bring the best out of Newfoundland. Almuhit holds Sheishyprid and Firstman on running here last month but there might not be much between them here. 2021 Cesarewitch winner Line Out is of obvious interest as is Willie Mullins’ debutant Immelman. The vote goes to EXTENSIO, winner of the Ladies Derby last year and handled the step up in trip well at Leopardstown last time.
