Jason Weaver’s Horse Racing tips
12:20 – Newcastle – Batal Dubai
12:40 – Newmarket – Star of Mystery
12:55 – Newcastle – Tiber Flow
13:15 – Newmarket – Phantom Flight
13:30 – Newcastle – Faylaq, Mostly Sunny (both each-way)
13:50 – Newmarket – Berkshire Shadow
14:05 – Newcastle – Law Of The Sea
12:20 Newcastle – Batal Dubai
Batal Dubai will need to be a little bit sharper for his return at Windsor but there is no doubting his ability. He was an eye catcher under hands in heels riding late on, suggesting that he has been prepped perfectly for this. Also he gets a handy 6lbs for the weight for age allowance in the Sprint division. He’s 1-1 on the all weather.
12:40 – Newmarket – Star of Mystery
Star of Mystery looked an absolute rocket when bolting up 16 days ago at Haydock, really getting low to the ground and quickening away from the field easily when asked. She’s bred to be very good being a half sister to a couple of Group 1 winners.
12:55 – Newcastle – Tiber Flow
Tiber Flow has a very good three wins from four starts on a synthetic profile and has some very good course and distance form to his name, including when just behind El Caballo in the All Weather Championships last season. He was put in his place last time by a proven Group 1 performer and the slight ease in company will help now.
13:15 Newmarket – Phantom Flight
Phantom Flight already has some strong form in the book, including when behind New London at this course and now meets that rival again on slightly better terms. He also has the added bonus of stepping up an extra quarter mile for the very first time. He does have a little to find on the figures, but could well prove to have the best change of gear late on in this select lineup.

13:30 – Newcastle – Faylaq, Mostly Sunny (Both each way)
Blow Your Horn will be punted off the boards but has a pretty poor two win from 18 starts strike-rate on the all weather. Mostly Sunny already has some strong course and distance form and certainly doesn’t look badly treated on a mark just 1lb above his last success, that came here. Faylaq was putting in some eye-catching late headway over shorter at Hamilton when last seen, suggesting that his first try over this distance can see him leave his previous form behind.
13:50 – Newmarket – Berkshire Shadow
Berkshire Shadow was a previous Royal Ascot winning juvenile. He has proven himself back at a very decent level in his four-year-old career so far this term. He doesn’t look as if he will mind the drop back in distance to 7 furlongs and he is taking a drop in class from top-level company . He also has a fitness edge over the red-hot favourite Aldaary.
14:05 Newcastle – Law Of The Sea
Omniscient and Post Impressionist may well be thrown in at the weights but they are returning after lengthy absences. Law Of The Sea has proven himself in decent handicap company and brings in a 50 per cent strike rate on the All Weather surface. I was slightly concerned about the quick conditions he encountered in his last two outings on Turf and a return to the synthetic surface looks as if it’s guaranteed to suit. He has an inside starting position in box two and should get a perfect tow around in the box seat.
