14:45 – Newcastle – Never Fear – Norwich Evening News

A market move for any of the newcomers would be interesting but the last six winners of this race had experience. Ambushed and D Point could well step up from their debut efforts but this looks to be between the previous winners Biloxi Boy and NEVER FEAR. The former stepped up a good deal from his first start when winning at Ripon, but preference is for the latter who found the Hilary Needler too much last time but had previously shown an aptitude for Tapeta when winning on her Wolverhampton debut.

16:10 – Nottingham – Obee Jo – Liverpool Echo

Six wins at 6-7 furlongs and it was never thought worth trying 1m until coming from well off the pace into fifth at Thirsk recently (good to firm); that wasn’t definite proof he stays the trip but OBEE JO deserves another go at it.

16:55 – Newmarket – Pisanello – The Guardian

Rewarded for his consistency when winning over 8.3 furlongs at Hamilton last month; not quite at the same level the next twice (1m2f/1m1f) but PISANELLO can raise his game, the drop back to 1m should help.

20:45 – Leicester – Astronomica – Morning Star

With rain about, there should be a good run in ASTRONOMICA who accounted for a subsequent winner at Windsor. Ticket To Alaska was knocking on the door prior to an excusable failure at Chepstow and he’s feared most followed by Harry The Haggler.
