It’s the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival and the big race of the afternoon sees Constitution Hill take on Brighterdaysahead and State Man in a stonking renewal of the Champion Hurdle (16:00).

The famous Cheltenham Roar will greet the runners going to post for the Michael O’Sullivan Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (13:20) and Kopek Des Bordes is the first leg of a popular acca that also includes Majborough in the My Pension Expert Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices’ Chase (14:00), Lossiemouth in the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle (15:20) and Constitution Hill in the feature.

There is also Jumps action at Sedgefield before all-weather meetings in the evening at Southwell and Wolverhampton round off proceedings.
