Little form to go on here, but I was at Ripon when Brandaisy made her debut and she was as green as any newcomer I have seen this season and she could run really well at double figure odds and give WHOOP WHOOP the most trouble. My tip may only have finished fourth on both her starts, but this stiffer track is definitely going to play to her strengths and I can’t wait to see her go up to seven furlongs.
Forceful Speed was very well back on her comeback at Doncaster, but raced very freely and paid for that in the closing stages. Prophet’s Dream needs a career best to complete the hat-trick off 82 which is why I have selected MILLION THANKS. She was punted as if defeat was out of the question at Yarmouth, but Discretion got first run and I expect her to gain compensation here.
I thought that this was relatively straight forward with the Warwick Fillies’ Stakes winner set to go in again. I loved the way that this daughter of Vadamos travelled through that contest at Goodwood and then when asked for her effort she showed a tidy turn of foot inside the final furlong to win comfortably. Take LUISA CASATI to see off both Caius Chorister and Voodoo Queen.
At first glance stepping up to an extended two and a quarter miles I thought would suit the mare Haizoom and she has major claims in this staying event, but she may find it hard to give 18lbs for COLD HENRY. The selection remains unexposed with only 10 runs under his belt and I fancy the extra yardage here will draw out a bit more improvement.
With the Alan King team in such good form there are plenty of you sure to fancy the claims of his Haseefah, but the handicapper is hardly giving her any slack following a series of placed efforts. That means that the Sir Michael Stoute charge, FOX JOURNEY is the obvious selection if you can grab a bit of 4/1. Sixth of 13 to the classy Torito in the Lester Piggott Stakes at Epsom when the grey colt failed to handle the track, this looks easier on a more straightforward piece of land.
Following wins off 55, 61 and 79, Concorde will need a career best, and by some way to land this three-year-old mile handicap and he makes the market for the rest of this field of youngsters. The best alternative may be the Richard Fahey runner who simply hasn’t stayed a mile and a quarter on his last two starts and this drop in trip on a sound surface makes THREE YORKSHIREMEN look an interesting each-way play.
This looks the most open race on the card and with plenty of pace on here it could well pay to source a speedster coming from off the sharp end even though this track does lend itself to front runners. ABDUCTION is three from 23 on turf and drops down from a sharp seven furlongs to a stiff six and can swoop late and fast to see off Mojomaker and the disappointing but well treated Admiral D.
