18:05 – Musselburgh – Poet Master – Steve Mullington
First foal; dam 6f 2yo winner (including Listed; RPR 105), half-sister to 10.5f-1m6f winner Adeline out of Swiss 1m1f-1m4f winner; gelded ahead of this belated debut but POET MASTER wouldn’t need to be that good to make a winning start.
18:22 – Goodwood – La Pulga – Racing Post
Drying ground may be an issue for Enthrallment, but he is still worth a second look after his encouraging stable debut at Kempton this month. Vega Sicilia certainly deserves to get his head back in front having finished second in five of his last six starts including in a big field last time, but he may have to settle for the runner-up spot again behind LA PULGA. A winner and a close second earlier this month, he is already due another 2lb rise and can make the most of the opportunity.
19:05 – Newmarket – Never Ending – Racing Post
Having posted a solid effort at the Craven meeting and scored at Goodwood this season, NEVER ENDING is an appealing handicap debutante who looks the type to improve further. Feud, whose reappearance form has substance, is second choice ahead of Island Star.
19:15 – Musselburgh – Sugar Baby – The Scotsman
Dickieburd and Glory Fighter command the utmost respect but they’re not ideally drawn, whereas SUGAR BABY is. The selection won with a nice bit in hand at Thirsk and he can defy a career-high mark. The danger could be Spring Is Sprung.

20:05 – Goodwood – Halla Dubia – Lambourn
Steadily improving, finishing runner-up in his last two starts including behind a nice prospect at Doncaster (1m, good to firm) three weeks ago; HALLA DUBAI remains open to further progress now handicapping and one to be interested in.
20:10 – Newmarket – Via Corone – Racing Post
A small field but an interesting race all the same. Last year’s winner Nizaaka ran well at Goodwood last time and should appreciate the return to this track but she faces a tough task against some interesting 3yos. Pastiche looks open to improvement back at 7f but VIA CORONE has shown plenty in her two novice starts and could have been let into handicaps lightly. The other three runners also have something to recommend them too.
