14:30 – Persian Dreamer
PERSIAN DREAMER looked really good on her racecourse debut and went off a very short price up at York last time but seemed unable to handle the rattling bass ground on that flat Bowling Green track. They’ll likely have put a bit of water on to maintain the condition of the surface here, and given the uphill nature at Ascot over the 6 furlongs, she can leave that last run well behind.
15:05 – Little Big Bear
Was an absolute rocket last season and proved his poor run in May’s 2000 Guineas all wrong with a dominant display in the sprinting division at Haydock later in the month. The way LITTLE BIG BEAR quickened on that occasion puts him right in the top drawer in this company. Looks to have most to fear from Sakheer.
15:40 – Aimeric
Has graced the winners enclosure on a few occasions already in his racing career and he’s been handed a very good starting position for this test at Ascot. AIMERIC travelled very smoothly in his win at Doncaster last time and has only been nudged up the 4lbs for that effort. He’s a great ride for James Doyle.
16:20 – Remarquee
Obviously Tahiyra is going to be terribly tough to defeat, but the selection is much better than she showed in the English 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. She hadn’t blossomed prior to a return win at Newbury back in April, and given that she’s a low-mileage improver, I can see REMARQUEE taking a significant step forward today.

17:00 – Eximious
Has tried some decent company already and made a real pleasing start to her campaign a fortnight ago when trying to give away a good chunk of weight to the winner over 7 furlongs at Newbury. That trip was just a little too sharp for her, and stepping up over the stamina-sapping mile here will see EXIMIOUS improve. She has a bit of pace drawn around to tow her into the contest.
17:35 – King Of Steel
Put up a tremendous performance in The Derby at Epsom and granted he’s bounced out of that okay – which he surely has as the team decided to let him take a chance here just 20 days later – KING OF STEEL can use this as a bit of a lap of honour.
18:10 – Prince of Pillo (each way)
Is surely better than his return effort at Haydock in a hot contest as he was heavily punted but never really got into it. That was against his elders and now PRINCE OF PILLO drops back down into his own age division from a good high stall position. He can outrun his odds.
