16:40 – Aird

A couple of interesting newcomers here in Alalcance and Deadly Nightshade, while World Peace and Sugaree are also very much of interest. The verdict though goes to AIRD who ran on to good effect on her most recent start at the Curragh and looks capable.

17:10 – Zona Verde

The winners in this line-up, Mary The Priest and Port Louis are respected and both race up with the pace. However, the first-named is drawn high and the form of the latter’s maiden win hasn’t really worked out. A chance is taken on ZONA VERDE, who shapes as if this trip will suit, having run well in sprints on two of her three starts. Sea Singer, Hispanolita and Dramatic Entrance are of interest.

17:45 – Fastman

Not many of these appeal very much. Amanirenas will be hard to beat if able to reproduce her win here last week. Preference though is for top-weight FASTMAN who has suffered two narrow defeats in better handicaps over 1m here and deserves a change of luck.

18:15 – Zero Fighter

Though it was only a claimer that he won last time, ZERO FIGHTER (NAP) looks an improving 3yo and can follow up with Colin Keane aboard. Benavente ran better than it appeared over same course and distance (C&D) last time and can be involved. Everything fell right for Cnodian last time but she is at least in form so has to be respected. If the cheekpieces work on One Boss she will be a player.

18:50 – Semblance Of Order

Plenty here with genuine chances. Mere Accountant is still unexposed but her form ties in well. Dawn Session and Hero Blues both come here fresh from maiden wins and top-weight National Emblem could well be better than his rating. However, no horse is on more of an upward curve than SEMBLANCE OF ORDER after a narrow failure in a good Curragh handicap last time.

19:20 – Skontonovski

No win since October but SKONTONOVSKI has remained consistent; third in a similar C&D handicap last week and surprising if he was not thereabouts if getting luck in running.

19:50 – Open To Question

Teorie, King Leodegrance and Dubawi Delight have all shown solid placed form in maidens on their second starts and are likely to be competitive. However, OPEN TO QUESTION was only 1l behind the last-named on his debut at the Curragh and is open to further improvement, so is selected. The sole filly in the field, Eziva, can also show improvement from her Curragh debut.

20:20 – Nikini

Whatawit is a dual UK bumper winner and has to be respected being sent over for this by his top trainer. However, NIKINI has achieved much more in NH terms and was a fine fourth in a Sligo maiden last time after being slowly away, so can score. Purple Mountain, Aussie Warrior, Enniskerry and Mon Coeur are all capable of being involved.
