We all know how special Royal Ascot is and the big man has put on a bonus game of Paddy’s Pick 5 for Wednesday, June 21.
A £/€25,000 jackpot is waiting for someone – or several people – to bag and all you have to do to be in with a shot at landing the prize money is pick the first five home in the Royal Hunt Cup (5pm).
You don’t need to name them in the correct order – just the first 5 to get themselves past the post.
We’ve drafted in racing royaltyRuby Walsh and top tipster Rory Delargyto share their top picks for the Royal Hunt Cup.
Let’s get their verdicts…
Ruby Walsh:
I’ve got five that I fancy: Perotto, Intellogent, Atrium, Bless Him and Sonny Liston.
In terms of picking the winner, I’m keen on Intellogent with James Doyle on board for Jane Chapple-Hyam. He ran a blinder last year and he was eye-catching on his last start at Newbury.
The rest are based on having a high draw as that will be key in the Royal Hunt Cup on Wednesday. Perotto, Atrium, Bless Him and Sonny Liston are drawn in stalls 30, 24, 20 and 22 respectively.
If you’re struggling to decide who to back, it’s definitely worth sticking with the higher drawn runners.
Intellogent has to be in there as he ran an absolute stormer here last season. He was only just beaten and he was an eye-catcher at Newbury last time out.
Perotto is one of my selections for David Egan and Roger Varian. I’m hoping his price drifts closer to the race and if so, I’ll be all over him.
I also like Awaal in stall 29 for Simon & Ed Crisford, who have booked William Buick. He had decent form but he failed to impress last time out at Longchamp, however, he can bounce back on his return to the UK.
I’m chucking in Ouzo at a massive price. He’s been running in Meydan this season and Jamie and Saffie Osborne have been in form this season. He’s got place form at the track so he can hit the frame.
Finally, I’m on Atrium for Charlie Fellowes in stall 24. He had a few decent runs last season and he’s getting back into the swing of things this campaign. The draw is good and he can go well.
