Horse Racing Tips: Tipman’s 4 fine flutters on Wednesday at Royal Ascot

15:05 Crystal Caprice (each way)
17:00 Intellogent (each way)
17:35 Saint George (each way)

15:05 Crystal Caprice

1.5 points each way (5 places)

This race does look like it could get extremely messy over the mile here and being drawn inside is going to require a lot of luck so I’m looking to horses well suited to today’s test and drawn wide so they should be able to avoid any trouble. Crystal Caprice, a winner of two handicaps last year including here at Ascot, now drops back down to the mile trip again in which he claimed that win, drops in class here and Ryan Moore booked. Should have a great chance.

17:00 Intellogent

1.5 points each way (7 places)

Intellogent‘s form numbers might put people off, but he’s been in some deep races here and in France before making the switch and has some of the best form in the race. He’s just 1lb lower than when just beaten here last year and his recent efforts suggest the target has been this race all along. A good draw in the high numbers has tended to do well in this race and he just looks like a horse who’s been set up for this.

17:35 Saint George

1.5 points each way (4 places)

The favourite Gregory is short and too short, along with most of Frankie Detori’s mounts this week, so we take him on with one who looks very interesting. Saint George is probably the only one who’s guaranteed to stay this trip and the fact he’s entered here instead of a handicap suggests there might be plenty up his sleeve that connections know about. He has improved with each run and looks perfectly well suited to todays test, Oisin Murphy booked for the ride and I fancy him to finish in the frame at the very least here.

18:10 Maximum Impact

1.5 points each way (4 places)

Not a huge amount of value about here but Maximum Impact is a tracker horse and has done nothing wrong so far, sets the standard in the newly fitted tongue-tie after improving and readily seeing off fellow-rival Action Point over course and distance seven weeks ago. Jockey Kevin Stott has won twice in two rides when aboard. Shown progress and a good attitude last time out to knuckle down and get home here and it’s difficult to see him out the frame today.
