A tricky race in which the vote goes to FLOWER OF DUBAI, who made a good start when winning at Kempton in April and travelled smoothly for a long way when a clear third on her handicap debut at Doncaster 17 days ago. This well-bred filly still has untapped potential and is an interesting contender back against her own sex. The handicap newcomers Wodhooh and Page Three are feared most in that order, although Golden Vintage went close at Southwell on her penultimate run and has claims if she can recapture that form.
14:40 – Talis Evolvere
Top of the list is Richard Hannon’s TALIS EVOLVERE, who showed plenty of promise with his debut third at Nottingham last August in a race won by a subsequent Group 3 scorer. He sets the standard on his return and has plenty of scope for progress on this step up in trip. Sir Mark Prescott’s gelding Imperial Dream has a solid record and he’s the main danger, although the newcomer Vale Dolobo Dancer has a striking pedigree and he needs watching in the market.
15:10 – Etihad Rail
Persian Phoenix (second choice) took a major step forward with her strong-finishing second at Chelmsford and she’s strongly respected on this switch to 7f. Archie Watson has two interesting debutants in Chiefman and Hadrian’s Wall, while another newcomer to keep an eye on is Belle Storm. However, the one who appeals most is ETIHAD RAIL, who has leading claims on his second in a big-field maiden at Leicester 13 days ago and is open to more progress on his step up in trip.
15:40 – Kings Code
Previous course and distance (C&D) winner Yeoman had an excuse when returned to heavy ground at Thirsk last time and he could resume his progress back on Tapeta. Covert Legend looks interesting on his drop back in trip, while there are several handicap newcomers who need a close look including Storymaker and Al Tarfa. However, it might be worth siding with KINGS CODE, who did well to come on top in a tactical race at Bath ten days ago and is only 1lb higher on his switch to all weather (AW).

16:10 – Strategic Fortune (NAP)
Most of these have something to prove but STRATEGIC FORTUNE (NAP) made it 3-4 over C&D when justifying favouritism in a similar race in February and he’s a big player again after another break. Second choice is Carey Street, who is on a dangerous mark and may have done too much too soon when a respectable second here last time. The other one on the shortlist is the in-form 5yo Distinction, who has each-way claims again.
16:45 – Youre Cool
An open race in which the vote goes to the admirable veteran YOURE COOL, who recorded his tenth course when scoring in good style over C&D last month. Therehegoes escapes a penalty for his success at Windsor last Monday and he’s strongly respected along with the other last-time-out winner Louis Treize. Gustav Graves has been in good form since April and should give it another good shot back Tapeta, while others who could be dangerous are Astrophysics and Josies Kid.
17:20 – Atalanta Breeze
Stonking is the dark one but market confidence would be welcomed after so long out. Further Measure (second choice) and Glory And Honour are likely to go well but a blind eye can be turned to the fairly treated ATALANTA BREEZE‘s two defeats this season.
