14:05 – Iba Aldar
IBN ALDAR was well backed at Lingfield last month on his first start since October 2021 and he justified that support with a ready success in a six-furlong handicap, picking up well from off a sound pace. He didn’t find things developing so favourably when only sixth in a more modestly-run affair over seven furlongs last time, though he shaped as if still in good form and remains with relatively few miles on the clock.
14:40 – Majestic One
MAJESTIC ONE makes some appeal on paper and is worth siding with on debut for the powerful Charlie Appleby yard. Majestic One cost 80,000 guineas as a foal but that price more than tripled at the yearling sales where he fetched 260,000 guineas. He’s by Teofilo and out of a lightly-raced mare who is a sister to the smart Soft Whisper who was a prolific winner at listed level.
15:15 – Vaguely Royal
VAGUELY ROYAL has made a promising start to his career, finishing placed on all three starts, and he remains with potential. He wasted what had looked like a good opportunity when runner-up at Chepstow last time, seemingly losing concentration having been asked to win his race a fair way out, but the way he was coming back at the winner close home suggests he will be suited by this step up in trip.
15:50 – King Of Bavaria
KING OF BAVARIA snapped the losing sequence when cosily scoring at Windsor last month. He was struck on the nose by a rival’s whip approaching the final furlong but still went through with his challenge, quickening up well to lead inside the final 100 yards and win by three-quarters of a length. He still looks well treated after a 3lb nudge in the weights and can follow up.

16:25 – Laser Guided
LASER GUIDED had to settle for a share of the spoils on his handicap debut at Ripon earlier this month, but he shaped best in a race in which it proved difficult to get involved from off the pace. Laser Guided, who raced in mid-division, impressed with how he moved through that contest, offering hope that there is better to come. He still looks well treated after edging up 3lb and is the clear pick on Timeform’s figures here.
17:00 – B Associates
B ASSOCIATES has been thriving of late and completed the hat-trick at Carlisle earlier in the month, registering his second clearcut victory in as many days. B Associates scored by four lengths on his penultimate start and then, less than 24 hours later, followed it up with a two-and-a-half-length success. He is 7lb higher than for his latest victory but is on a roll at present and can extend the winning sequence.
17:35 – Bernie The Bear
BERNIE THE BEAR ran his best race yet when runner-up on his return at Carlisle earlier this month, finding only the thriving B Associates too strong. Bernie The Bear, who had been gelded ahead of his return, was no match for B Associates but he pulled well clear of the rest and ought to give another good account after edging up just 1lb.
