Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPs table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
BALTIMORE BOY won a Newcastle novice (7f, all weather) last summer and put up his best effort when a close second off 11 at Ascot (1m, good to soft) in September; built on his reappearance effort when fourth of 15 in an apprentice handicap over the same course and distance (C&D) (good) last month and this unexposed 4yo holds each-way claims.
Third to Quinault at Newmarket (6f, good) last month then filled same spot at Windsor (6f, good to firm); this is a much hotter race but EMINENCY has each-way claims nevertheless; one of two for last year’s winning yard.
There are major positives for ROMAN DRAGON who has an excellent record over C&D, looks well handicapped and has a very handy draw. He’s first choice ahead of Cuban Breeze, who is threatening to regain the winning thread. Ramon Di Loria and Ventura Express are in-form contenders who should go well again. Last year’s winner Ballyare has to overcome the widest stall.
Dropped to claimer and improved when second of six over C&D (good to firm) 18 days ago, claimed afterwards out of Marco Botti’s for £11,000; needs extra on this handicap debut but MOTASALEETA had just three races, so she may have more to give.
