13:50 – Westernesse (NAP)
A few with chances but it’s still tough to ignore the claims of WESTERNESSE (NAP), who has had the form of his Pontefract success boosted by the subsequent wins of the second and third and could easily have more to offer for his good new stable now he’s got his head in front. Highwaygrey (second choice), Pledge Of Honour and Solanna can fight it out for the minor honours.
14:25 – Up The Jazz
Brian Ellison’s new recruit Travel Candy (second choice) holds good claims on the back of her ready Beverley claiming success, but preference is for UP THE JAZZ who can build on his good Redcar second and provide another winner for the in-form Richard Fahey team. Surface To Air, Bazball and Regal Solitaire complete the shortlist.
15:00 – Distinguished Lady
Hard to confidently rule out any of the eight. Crazy Luck (second choice) should put up a bold bid in a race she ran well in 12 months ago, while the prolific David Evans-trained pair Dora Penny and Radio Goo Goo also come into the reckoning. Pink Crystal still has some potential but DISTINGUISHED LADY offered enough on her return to action at Chester to earn her the verdict.
15:35 – El Drama
There’s little to separate EL DRAMA and Shining Blue on RPRs, the fact that the former has several good efforts in Listed/Group company tipping things in his favour over one who is stepping up to this level for the first time in Britain.

16:10 – Cool Run
Lots with chances. Grant Tuer took this contest 12 months ago and his Bellarchi (second choice) has the edge on experience and holds very solid form claims too. Angel Shared and Sue’s Little Angel also enter calculations on the back of encouraging debut efforts, while newcomers Mecca’s Duchess and Pearl Abbey are in good hands and need watching in the market. However, COOL RUN is taken to build on her promising debut fifth at Thirsk and she edges the vote.
16:45 – Streak Lightning
Fiercely competitive. Riot, Royal Pleasure, Another Investment, No Nay Nicki and Mobashr all come into the reckoning but the two to appeal most are Doctor Khan Junior and STREAK LIGHTNING. The former has thrived since a visor went on and still has more to come, but the selection is capable of useful form when the cards fall right and the return to 7f should see him in a better light.
17:21 – Balhambar
Sir Michael Stoute’s unexposed 4yo BALHAMBAR is entitled to strip fitter for his recent comeback run at Kempton and gets the nod. Second choice is Ravenscraig Castle who has acquitted himself well in two well-contested events this year and has Mark Winn taking 5lb off. Wor Willie is next best.
