Unlike many other events either at Royal Ascot or on the Group One stage during the rest of the season, Aidan O’Brien can hardly lay claim to having farmed this fillies’ juvenile race with two wins since its inception in 2002 courtesy of Brave Anna in 2016 and Meditate 12 months ago, but with this daughter of No Nay Never in Matrika he has a real tool to go to war with following her impressive success at the Curragh last week. Very easy to back, she defied a wide stall and running free enough through the first two furlongs and was always in the van.
To be fair, I thought she looked cooked just over a furlong out as Grand Job moved upsides, but then Ryan asked her for more and she readily moved on for a cosy three parts of a length success. But I have elevated her success due to the fact that she was very weak in the market (9/2 out to 6/1) and looked as though the race would do her plenty of good as she was far from being tight fit. She looks an exciting filly and looks an each-way bet to nothing against the likes of Roger Varian’s Newmarket winner Jabaara and Soprano (looks more like a Queen Mary filly).
