There were quite encouraging signs from the well-handicapped JARVIS on his all-weather (AW) reappearance 5 weeks ago and he’s given a chance to build on that. Indian Sounds is on a long losing run but the Paul Midgley stable does very well in this race so he’s feared most ahead of last week’s Ripon second Soul Seeker.
18:30 – Nariko
The vote goes to the potentially useful newcomer NARIKO who, having been purchased for 600,000 guineas, was the third-highest lot at this year’s Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale. She’s attractively bred to boot and will be all the more interesting if the market speaks favourably. Neverstopdreaming, who should build on her Goodwood promise, is second choice ahead of Say Hello who has a good chance on the first of her two efforts.
19:00 – Real Terms
Having caught the eye in a big-field York handicap last month, REAL TERMS could be the answer to this competitive contest. She did well to finish as close as she did on the Knavesmire, all things considered, and remains just 1 lb above her last winning mark. C’mon Kenny also left the strong impression that his turn is near when a closing third recently at Haydock and he is second choice ahead of stablemate Zealandia and Matchless.
19:30 – Giovanni Change
Top of the list is GIOVANNI CHANGE, who was a clearcut winner over 2m5f here on his return in April and followed up when landing a good hurdle handicap at Market Rasen last month. This tough front-runner is still lightly raced on the Flat and he’s a major player again in his hat-trick bid. The main threat could come from triple course winner Flint Hill, who bounced back with a brave success at Catterick last time and is only 1lb higher here.

20:00 – Her Way
The vote goes to HER WAY who was a bit better than the result over 1½m at Thirsk last week and can take advantage of her reduced mark back at her optimum trip. The thriving Iron Sheriff is clear second choice ahead of Mcted.
20:30 – Lord Abama
Back down in grade, LORD ABAMA is taken to build on his encouraging recent efforts and get off the mark. Caesars Pearl, a similar type, is second choice ahead of course specialists (and previous winners of this race) Corinthia Knight and Round The Island who are the well-exposed veterans in this field but warrant respect back here. Crypto Quest is also worth a mention.
21:00 – Pearl Eye
PEARL EYE is still well weighted andf might be able to follow up his recent Haydock success. Tasever, fourth in a more competitive race than this at York last time, and recent Hamilton third Hi Clare can give Darryll Holland’s charge most to do.
