13:40 – Emeralds Pride
EMERALDS PRIDE stepped up on her reappearance when filling the runner-up spot at Beverley last time, staying on well in the final furlong to pass the post just a length behind the winner. She can line up from the same mark today and just a repeat of that form ought to put her right in the mix once again, back at the scene of her sole previous career victory in April 2022.
14:10 – Tothenines
TOTHENINES was disappointing when down the field at Lingfield last month, but he is the type to bounce back quickly having enjoyed a solid all-weather campaign during the winter. He reached his peak when hitting the frame three times in a row towards the end of 2022, showing fairly useful form in the process. He now drops into a seller for the first time and is very much the one to beat on these terms if the drop back to six furlongs can spark a revival.
14:40 – Wind In Your Sails
WIND IN YOUR SAILS was gambled on and duly showed much-improved from despite finding one too good at Windsor last time, sticking to her task well to be beaten just three quarters of a length. That appeals as solid form and the first two looked good prospects in pulling a little way clear of the rest. Still totally unexposed after just two runs, Wind In Your Sails is fancied to improve past the battle-hardened Mubhijah to open her account at the third attempt.

15:10 – Granny B
GRANNY B achieved a fair level of form in six starts as a two-year-old, producing her best effort when finishing second in a Pontefract maiden last July. She wasn’t disgraced in three subsequent starts in nurseries and now she returns from eight months off on a career-low mark. In a wide-open contest, she is worth a chance to build on her two-year-old promise to shed her maiden tag.
15:40 – Laakhof
LAAKHOF made it two from two since joining the Declan Carroll stable with a dominant win at Musselburgh last week, making all to land the spoils by two and a half lengths. That was a career-best effort and it’s not out of the question that he may yet have more to offer for his new yard. Crucially, he escapes a penalty for his latest success, so this looks an excellent opportunity for him to complete the hat-trick if it doesn’t come too soon.
16:10 – Knightswood
KNIGHTSWOOD proved at least as good as ever when regaining the winning thread at Beverley last week, showing the best turn of foot in a slowly-run race back up in trip. He was ultimately well on top at the finish, just needing to be pushed out late on to win by two and three-quarter lengths. He registered back-to-back victories around this time last year and a 5-lb penalty is unlikely to be enough to prevent him from following up once again.
16:40 – Fiscal Policy
FISCAL POLICY looked unsuited by the drop back to five furlongs at Chelmsford last time, so it was to his credit that he still managed to win, staying on well to lead in the final strides. The return to six today will be very much in his favour and, though it was a narrow winning margin at Chelmsford, he certainly showed enough to suggest a 3 lb rise in the weights won’t be beyond him.
