LAAKHOF is 2-2 for his new stable, following a Catterick win (closely matched with Imperial Khan) with an easy victory at Musselburgh last week (5f, good to firm). Unpenalised for that (9lb well in) and the form was given some substance when the second won on Monday. Plenty to recommend him.

18:03 Bath – Lil Guff (Luke Tucker)

All of LIL GUFF’s four wins have come over 6f, including two last May. Had a very rare go at 5f when creditable third of seven to Glamorous Breeze at Windsor (good to firm) 18 days ago, beaten nearly 2l.

19:20 Haydock – Absolutelyflawless (The Guardian)

ABSOLUTELYFLAWLESS comes here in good form having won at Wolverhampton (6f, AW) and finished runner-up to stable companion of Cuban Breeze at Chester (6f, good, winner completed hat-trick) last month. Faster ground a slight concern but otherwise respected.

19:55 Haydock – Abate (PicksfromthePaddock)

ABATE got off the mark for the season when winning apprentice handicap over 5f at Hamilton last week (good to firm). Just as effective at 6f and with no penalty is an obvious contender (6lb higher from Saturday).
