He doesn’t help himself by tending to race a bit too freely but GRAFFITI ran well in defeat on last month’s seasonal debut and is selected in the hope he can build on that performance. Girl Inthe Picture also comes here after a good recent effort and is earmarked as a likely danger.
14:50 – Mantra
In what could turn out to be a good 2yo fillies’ race the most appealing option is MANTRA, who was always on the back foot after starting very slowly on her Yarmouth debut but caught the eye making good late headway and seems sure to improve as she gains experience. Miss Show Off (second choice) and Tierney have also shown significant ability, while Beautiful Diamond is arguably the most interesting among the newcomers.
15:25 – Isle Of Dreams
Declan Carroll’s very progressive mare ISLE OF DREAMS has won her last five races and might have been found a good opportunity to add to her haul here. Dolly Gray drops back in trip after a pleasing seasonal debut on Tapeta but a bigger threat to the selection may come from Rainbow Mirage, who should now be at concert pitch for her third run of the campaign.

16:00 – Secret Guest
Two of these come here after convincing wins and may fight this out. SECRET GUEST has fewer miles on the clock than Sprit Of Applause and is given the verdict. Funny Story drops in grade after a promising seasonal debut at Newmarket and is next on the list, while market support will being Heroism into the equation.
16:35 – Single
Splendent stuck to his task pretty well when third in a big field over 1m4f at York recently and is afforded significant respect on his first attempt at today’s trip but it might pay to give another chance to SINGLE, who wasn’t at her best last time but ran very well in a good race at Newmarket two starts ago. Bashful Boy should also feature.
17:10 – August
Good cases can be made for most of these. Starnberg is not opposed lightly after his very convincing win at York 11 days ago but there should still be quite a bit more to come from AUGUST, who makes his handicap debut after making the frame in a good Newmarket novice.
17:45 – The New Marwan (NAP)
This can go to THE NEW MARWAN (nap) who is on a good mark now and was back to form when a close second at Redcar last week. Just behind him in fourth Alhabor can prove the main danger while recent Windsor winner Trojan Truth will be a tough nut to crack if the addition of cheekpieces has a positive effect.
