15:30 Leicester – Thapa VC

1.5 points each way

Thapa VC was a winner last time out and is now up in grade and has a penalty to negotiate but he’s unexposed, especially on turf, and looks progressive. Placed here on his only start last season and was very unlucky not to win. Won on good to firm last time out at Yarmouth and turned around pretty quickly here to go again. Trip is perfect and he’s drawn ideally. Has a good solid chance.

16:35 Leicester – Dasho Lennie

1.5 points each way

A very closely contested handicap now and I don’t think there’s a whole lot separating the front 3 in the market so all the value is with Dasho Lennie. The other two have penalties to contend with while Dasho Lennie remains on the same mark as when a closing 4th last time out at Ascot. Soft ground that day and the extra trip and dryer ground should suit today. Unexposed so we can expect some improvement and plenty of pedigree to suggest this trip will be ideal.

18:30 Lingfield – Alpine Girl

1.5 points each way

A real puzzle this one as none of these have shown a great deal so far but Alpine Girl has looked like she’s needed this trip for a while as she’s found the 6f a bit of a stretch. She’s nicely bred and should really appreciate this type of sprint which should unlock some more progress. Dropped a few lbs in the weights and Benoit De La Sayette booked for the ride is a big positive. Should go well.
