17:45 – Komedy Kicks

KOMEDY KICKS wandered about at her hurdles when edging home in a Worcester maiden (2m, good) and again looked a bit quirky when second at Fontwell; still has some of the best form on offer.

18:15 – Across The Line (NAP)

Romanor has a bit to prove after two below-par runs but the other three arrive in good nick. Pawpaw is unbeaten in the visor but he is up markedly in the weights and preference is for ACROSS THE LINE (NAP) in the hope he’s ridden positively, as he was last time. An easy lead could be his for the taking.

18:50 – Cawthorne Lad

Shantou Express made all in this last year off a 5lb higher mark and he should welcome this return to shallower waters. However, CAWTHORNE LAD could be a decent recruit to the Jeffreys team and his fitness is worth chancing after a break. Presenting Yeats is preferred of the others.

19:20 – Stormin Crossgales

A tight handicap in which all five should run well. STORMIN CROSSGALES is a bold front-runner who should excel around here and he’s undergone wind surgery since a solid effort at Market Rasen. Blaze A Trail also likes to go forward, so they wouldn’t want to cut each other’s throats, but this 9yo was in career-best form when last seen and could be the danger.

19:50 – Lighthouse Mill

Astroman has developed the winning habit all of a sudden and should go well, as can Scudamore (second choice) and Baby Sham. Making a case for the latter pair also brings LIGHTHOUSE MILL firmly into the equation.

20:20 – Captain Tommy

Valsheda has much to prove but the other three all have live claims. Tommie Beau (second choice) ran only three days ago and Coup De Pinceau stays further than this, so CAPTAIN TOMMY appeals most.

20:55 – Nadim

This is likely to be run at a good clip as both Smart Deal and He’s My Shadow don’t hang about and Pak Army likes to dominate. It will be disappointing should Flat winner NADIM not raise his game on his handicap debut at a track that should suit him. Miss Fedora is feared most.
