14:00 – Valour And Swagger
Karl Burke’s runner Valour And Swagger bolted up on his racecourse debut at Windsor and also ran a cracker under a penalty when they didn’t make enough use of him at Ascot. He rallied very strongly towards the line and given an extra 220 yards to race over in this contest, he can be seen in a much better light, despite his wide starting position in box 11.
14:35 – Fantastic Fox
It looks as if Fantastic Fox‘s handler Roger Varian has prepped him ideally for a return attempt in this contest after being an unlucky third here 12 months ago year of a mark of 98. He returns under similar conditions with 5lb less to carry and looks to be a major player. Jockey Oisin Murphy is booked and is in red-hot form at the moment.
15:10 – Point Lonsdale
The only time Point Lonsdale hasn’t been in the money was in the 2,000 Guineas behind Coroebus on his only start as a three-year-old. He handles quicker conditions and has the added bonus of stepping up in distance to 1m 4f now which looks ideal given he is a full brother to Broome. He has a bit to find on ratings but is definitely on the right path.
15:45 – Majestic
Despite a very slow start at York last time, Majestic still ran really well to finish fourth. That run gets a further upgrade when you consider he had to finish down the centre the track as most winners came up towards the stands rail at the Dante meeting. Conditions are fine, he’s not on a bad mark has a handy position in stall two. He’s tough and consistent.

16:30 – Savethelastdance & Heartache Tonight
Now we’ve got the big one, the Epsom Oaks. Savethelastdance was mighty impressive at Chester when completely tearing apart the opposition for a whopping 22 length success. Aidan O’Brien’s runner has to prove herself under quicker conditions now, but given her pedigree, it shouldn’t hold any fears. Savethelastdance is going to be very tight in the market after her Chester romp and if there were an outsider to get a slice of the action, it might be Heartache Tonight. She now steps up in trip having run well at Group One level over 1m 2f but looks progressive.
