Course winner BATTLE OF TORO lacks a recent run but his trainer has a fine record here and he is taken to beat the in-form Elham Valley and prolific winner Appreciate.
18:20 – City Vaults
Although Idealdes Villerets has the best form he could be vulnerable with a penalty and a chance is taken on the hurdling newcomer CITY VAULTS who is the sort of horse that Jimmy Moffatt does so well with. Useful Flat performer Grand Scheme and Newcastle winner Special Rate are two others with a chance.
18:50 – Edinburgh Rock
It’s hard to be positive about any of these but EDINBURGH ROCK does not have many convictions over hurdles and makes his handicap debut after running quite well on the Flat this month. He gets the vote. Last year’s winner Hey Bob is very well suited by tight, left-handed tracks and is second choice. Clean Getaway and Diamant Sur Canape are also worth a look.
19:20 – Check My Pulse
Sword Of Fate and Line Of Descent (preferred in that order) arrive in good form and are both respected but the suggestion is CHECK MY PULSE, who runs this track well and returned from a break with a satisfactory run a fortnight ago.

19:50 – Grey Skies
In a race that features four last-time-out winners GREY SKIES (nap) is taken to follow up last month’s win at Perth with Vintage Fizz and Hidden Depths his most likely dangers.
20:20 – Dressedforsuccess
Although the in-form Time Leader is a strong contender, all his hunter chase wins have been over shorter and it could pay to side with course specialist DRESSEDFORSUCCESS despite a below-par run on heavy ground when last seen out.
20:50 – Alqamar
Although not at his best last year, ALQAMAR has dropped to a good mark and is taken to score at a decent price on his first run over this trip having run well over 1m6f on the Flat. Curley Finger and the in-form Thatbeatsbanagher should also run well.
