14:30 – Clody Flyer
Clody Flyer offered encouragement when runner-up on debut at Wetherby last month and built on that when scoring with something to spare at Uttoxeter a few weeks ago. That is by far the best form on offer and, with more to come, Clody Flyer should prove very difficult to beat. Melvich Bay gets the nod over Butterfly Island for the forecast spot.
15:00 – Exit To Where
Exit To Where won this race last season and he enhanced his good record around here when successful over just shy of three miles earlier in the month. He was capitalising on a fall in the weights last time so even a 5 lb rise for that success leaves him 3 lb below the mark he defied in this last year.
15:35 – Bythesametoken
Bythesametoken proved inconsistent over fences last season, but he’s been in good form from his lower hurdles mark of late, finishing runner-up in handicaps at Wexford and Ayr. He shaped well when finishing off strongly in a competitive event at Ayr last time and he looks ready to cash in on his hurdles mark.
16:05 – Rae des Champs
Rae des Champs wasn’t seen to best effect when only fourth at Newcastle last time on her first attempt at around three miles but she is worth another chance at a staying trip. Rae des Champs was held up in a race that was run at a steady gallop and, despite closing all the way to the line, she was unable to land a telling blow. She had been shaping like she would improve for a step up in trip and she has more to offer over this kind of distance.

16:40 – Rockonsoph
Rockonsoph was disappointing on her chasing debut at Newcastle last time but she was a cosy winner on her sole start in points so can be given another chance over fences. This three-runner event is a much less competitive affair than the contest Rockonsoph tackled last time, while the significantly longer trip should give her more time to get into a rhythm. This is a good opportunity to get off the mark under Rules.
17:15 – Hermann Clermont
Hermann Clermont showed fairly useful form when winning a couple of handicaps at Perth for Gordon Elliott last summer and he wasn’t disgraced when runner-up in a hunter chase here earlier in the month. Hermann Clermont has the best form on offer, has fewer miles on the clock than most of these rivals and looks the one to side with.
17:45 – Hard As Nails
Hard As Nails improved on her two previous efforts to get off the mark on her return from a five-month break at Ludlow a few weeks ago, impressing with how she travelled before readily pulling two and a half lengths clear. She has been found an excellent opportunity and can follow up. Bumper debutant Snow Sherpherdess gets the nod for second.
