Princess Naomi had been running over longer trips on the all weather but ran well to win over today’s trip at Bath last month and followed up with a second over the same track and trip 17 days ago. Clearly in good form at the moment, and with just a 2lb rise for that latest second, it’s hard to see her being far away today. Luke Morris booked for the ride is another positive.
15:25 Perth – Aurora Thunder
1.5 points each way
Aurora Thunder was sent off favourite for this last year when it was a Class 3 and finished runner-up in a field of 10 off a much higher rating of 120. Races off 109 here and much better over this shorter trip than the extended 3 miles at Ayr last time out. Conditions look fine and this should be run at a very decent pace with the likes of Darkest Day and Chti Balko expected to make this a proper test. That should suit the like of Aurora Thunder who can pick this up late on.
17:45 Newmarket – Zabbie
1.5 points each way
Zabbie looks to have solid claims here and has run well at the track a few times already. A good second at Goodwood last time out and the race prior to that was his season debut so would of needed that run. Comes here now with two runs under his belt so should strip race fit and only up 1lb for the neck second at Goodwood. Alec Volkhansky retains the ride and he looks a lovely bit of value here.
