14:25 York – Lucky Man (Robin Goodfellow)

LUCKY MAN kept on well to win over C&D in September and he followed that with a good fourth in the Ayr Gold Cup. Not quite at that level twice afterwards and he’ll need to be cherry ripe to win this after a six-month absence.

15:35 York – Midnight Mile (Tipman)

MIDNIGHT MILE has a Ribblesdale entry and is from a from a fine family. Unraced on softer than good. Won 6f novice at Doncaster last July and 7f Group 3 at Newmarket last October. Lost her unbeaten record in November but that was at the Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland (1m) where she raced in last of 14 for a long way but finished fourth. Despite her sire, good chance she will stay. Also among the best form.

19:10 Bath – Beryl Burton (Postdata)

BERYL BURTON’s closing style is fraught with danger and she looked an unlucky loser at Pontefract two weeks ago, the pillar-to-post winner very much got first run. Up 1lb and a major player if this pans out better.

19:20 Cork – Inthepoorhouse (The Irish Sun)

INTHEPOORHOUSE came on from his reappearance/yard debut when beaten roughly 2l at the Curragh last month but well held when joint favourite at Navan on Saturday. Not ruled out back up in trip.
