Connie’s Rose is a two time course winner and placed here on a further three starts from eight runs so clearly gets this track well and it’s undulations. Now 1lb below her last winning mark against a field who, other than Bluebell Time, are all on marks higher than their best win so have plenty to prove. Two starts this season finishing 4th twice in big fields, and now back down to 5f at her favoured track, she represents some nice each way value.
15:35 Beverley – Sound Reason
1.5 points each way
Although recent form hasn’t seen Sound Reason at his best, he is now dropping to a dangerous handicap mark and drops massively in class here today. Has had two runs so far this season so should be reaching his peak racing fitness and loves it round here. Decent draw in stall 4 and, if getting back to anything like the form when he was running of marks of 80 plus, he’s dangerous on a mark of 76 today.
16:10 Beverley – Ugo Gregory
3 points win
Ugo Gregory was narrowly denied over course and distance here earlier in the month and he very rarely runs a bad race here with three wins from eight starts and a further two places. He’s four times a winner in this grade and conditions should be fine for him again today. Looks well handicapped on today’s mark and now, having his third run of the season, should be ready to go here today. Big player if building on his last effort.
16:45 Beverley – Blueflagflyinghigh
1.5 points each way
Blueflagflyinghigh is a big imposing individual who’s been improving with the step up in trip and now tackling this distance for the first time which looks a real positive. Staying on strongly twice this year to run into places should be able to take another step forward today. Not seen since January so should be fresh enough and this 3 year old can take another step forward today.
