If wiser this time, he may have the class to defy his tricky draw. Marroof can improve on his Beverley form and pose the greatest danger, unless any of the newcomers are particularly strong in the betting.

Purnika looks set to take a good step forward but GOLD GUY, who did so well in blinkers on debut and appeared to miss headgear last time, has to be the selection sporting cheekpieces.
18:00 – Platinum Girl
Doncaster runner-up PLATINUM GIRL holds leading form claims and, judged on breeding, should certainly be capable of winning a race of this nature. Class-dropper Slingsbytoo is second choice, ahead of Midnight Flame. It’s hard to rule out Newmarket raider Bonkersinabundance, while the handicap newcomers Ubettabequick, Tamay Girl and Powerful Response are potential improvers.
18:30 – Zumurud
With his stable form and the return of headgear both big positives, ZUMURUD may well prove the answer. Admiral Nelson, the interesting Irish challenger, is second choice ahead of Slainte Mhath who holds major claims if transferring her recent 6f form back to 7f.

19:00 – Morning Sun
The interesting horse is last week’s penalised Ayr winner MORNING SUN (nap), who is well related and has the potential to rate higher. Deferred is much respected now he returns to 1m2f and Arch Moon could go well despite finishing behind Masque Of Anarchy on his return.
19:30 – Sherdil
Dandy Spirit perhaps handled the heavy ground better than his rivals when winning at the weekend and he will do well to bring up the hat-trick now back into a Class 5. The suggestion is SHERDIL, who would have found the ground too soft on his reappearance. A kinder draw earns him preference over Abate, for whom a similar comment applies.
20:05 – Bay Dream Believer
With her yard in excellent form at present, BAY DREAM BELIEVER may have found the perfect window to get off the mark. She has come down the weights and is taken to build on her latest effort. Last-time-out winners Swinging Eddie (second choice) and Iron Sherriff are worthy of respect, while Esticky End and Martin’s Brig are others to consider.
20:40 – Fiftyshadesofred
So long as his good run at Chelmsford proves no false dawn then FIFTYSHADESOFRED should go well off a handy mark. Makalu’s turn looks near and he’s second choice ahead of Kodebreaker.
